Gamescom is underway this week, and that means plenty of new games are about to break cover. Sadly, it doesn’t appear a Forza Horizon-shaped hole in our lives will be filled with a sixth instalment in the series, but the show has given Microsoft a reason to drop the ticket price for the current Horizon Festival.
As part of the Xbox Gamescom sale, you can grab any edition of Forza Horizon 5 right now for exactly half of the usual price through the Xbox store.
If you’re quite happy with the base game, which includes access to the regular Mexico map and the 500+ cars available at launch, it’ll cost you £27.50. If you’re looking to get a taste of the latest Horizon without committing to a shedload of content you may never use, this could be the way to go.
The Deluxe edition is priced at £34.99, which brings the car pass on top of the Standard edition. That adds another 42 cars to the game, and each able to be added to your garage without having to spend in-game credits. Some of our highlights from the pass are the Subaru WRX STI S209, Mazda 323 GT-R, the original Ford F-150 SVT Lightning and on the other end of the pick-up scale, the Volkswagen Pickup XL.
For everything Horizon Mexico has to offer, you’ll want the Premium edition, currently available for £42.49. On top of everything in the Deluxe addition, you’ll get access to the Hot Wheels and Rally Adventure expansion packs as well as VIP membership which doubles your rewards from races and offers some bonus goodies.
The sale is set to end on 27 August, so you have a few days to make your mind up. It’s worth noting that buying through the Xbox Store will give you access to the title on Xbox consoles as well as PC.
