Days after talking the talk, Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Cam Taylor-Britt walked the walk Sunday, despite it coming in a last-second 26-25 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
With the Bengals leading 22-17 and 2:16 left in the third quarter, Taylor-Britt picked off Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes one-handed, posting an early contender for interception of the year.
Degree of difficulty aside, perhaps most importantly, Taylor-Britt denied a pass intended for WR Xavier Worthy.
Earlier in the week, the Bengals CB willingly provided the Chiefs and their young pass-catcher with bulletin board material, overlooking the first-year receiver while concluding he was a one-dimensional player who “can’t do too much else” but run straight and fast.
Taylor-Britt may have backed up his tough talk, but his teammates on both sides of the ball ultimately let a victory over the defending Super Bowl champs slip away.
Three plays after Taylor-Britt’s interception, Chiefs safety Chamarri Conner scooped up a fumble by QB Joe Burrow, returning it 38 yards for a touchdown.
Later, with 48 seconds left in the game and the Bengals up 25-23, safety Daijahn Anthony committed a pass interference penalty on 4th and 16 from the Kansas City 35-yard-line, setting up a Harrison Butker 51-yard game-winning field goal as time expired.

It’s a hard-breaking loss to the Bengals, who went toe-to-toe with the Chiefs after a poor Week 1 performance in a 16-10 loss against the New England Patriots.
Regardless, Cincinnati falls to 0-2 on the year with the Washington Commanders (1-1), coming off a 21-18 win over the New York Giants, up next at home on “Monday Night Football.”
