With Erin Foster making her Watch What Happens Live debut, it’s no surprise that her dad — music producer and former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star David Foster — was brought up multiple times.
David, 74, tied the knot with singer Katharine McPhee, 40, in 2019, before welcoming their first child together in February 2021. According to Erin, having a stepmom who’s practically the same age as her is “so fun.”
“The truth is having a stepmom who’s the same age as you is so much better. It’s so fun,” she told host Andy Cohen. “We’re the same age, we like the same things. And so it’s more like having a sister. We, just, are like friends. It’s nice.”
While Erin fully approves of her dad’s current wife, she didn’t necessarily feel the same way about seeing him on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills when he was married to Yolanda Hadid, who starred in Seasons 3 through 6.
“[I] didn’t love it,” the creator of Netflix’s Nobody Wants This admitted. “When you’re watching these shows — because there [are] these train wrecks that you just can’t stop watching and then all of a sudden your family’s a part of it, it becomes less fun.”
“You want to be able to laugh at it,” Erin continued. “I prefer to be a voyeur and a viewer. It’s like people have Instagram accounts and they don’t post but they like to see everything. I want to be on this side.”
Despite her disapproval of seeing her father on reality television, Erin revealed that she’s still close with her former step-sibling Gigi Hadid.
“Gigi actually just DM’d me last night saying she was starting to watch [Nobody Wants This],” Erin said. “The kids don’t get divorced, just the parents do.”
Watch What Happens Live airs Sunday through Thursdays at 10 p.m. ET on Bravo. New episodes are available to stream the next day on Peacock.
