NAC extends temporary suspension for Dana White Contender Series alum after failed drug test


The Nevada Athletic Commission has issued an extension on the temporary suspension of Michael Imperato. The NAC reached the decision at Tuesday’s monthly meeting.

Imperato (12-7) failed urinalysis for stanozolol, an anabolic steroid prohibited at all times on the World Anti-Doping Agency list, in connection with his Dana White’s Contender Series debut on Aug. 20 in Las Vegas.

Imperato, who entered the DWCS bout coming off a submission win over veteran Ricky Bandejas, lost a unanimous decision to Cortavious Romious and was not awarded a UFC contract. Imperato’s official suspension was issued Sept. 19. and possible disciplinary action remains pending for a future meeting.
