On Thursday, it looked well on its way to winning its eighth consecutive and extending the frustration and misery of Giants fans this year.
New York (2-9) started the game playing better than it had most of the year, scoring its first touchdown on the initial drive of a game since Week 2.
But things went downhill from there, and the team looks destined for a top draft pick for the second consecutive season.
