Watch: Cowboys defense scores on tip-drill pick-six vs. Giants

The New York Giants looked like they might be turning a corner at the start of their Thanksgiving clash with the rival Dallas Cowboys on Thursday.

Quarterback Drew Lock sparked the team to its first initial drive touchdown since Week 2, which gave New York its first lead in a game since Week 5, but that momentum would be short-lived.

After a solid defensive stop by the Giants in the second quarter, Lock attempted a check-down pass to running back Tyrone Tracy Jr., but Dallas pass-rusher DeMarvion Overshown tipped and intercepted it for a touchdown.

It looked like a play befitting of a Thanksgiving showdown, reminiscent of backyard brawls played between friends and family across America on the national holiday.

After trailing 7-6 and getting off to a sluggish offensive start, Dallas regained momentum and took a 13-7 lead.

The Cowboys have won seven straight over the Giants since 2021 and 14 of the last 15 meetings.

After upsetting the Washington Commanders in Week 12, a win Thursday would reinsert Dallas (4-7) back into the NFC playoff picture.

A loss for New York (2-9) would inch it ever so closer to a top draft pick and potentially a franchise-altering selection.

Lock started Thursday in place of the injured Tommy DeVito, who replaced season-starter Daniel Jones, who in turn was waived by the team and signed with the Minnesota Vikings on Wednesday.
