Eagles Injury Report: A.J. Brown among 4 players limited

The Philadelphia Eagles issued their second official injury report on Thursday in advance of their Week 16 road game against the Washington Commanders.

The Eagles listed four players under LIMITED PARTICIPATION: A.J. Brown, Landon Dickerson, Bryce Huff and Sydney Brown.

A.J. Brown was listed under did not participate on Wednesday with a “rest” designation. Now he’s being listed with a “knee/rest” designation. A little curious. But guessing it won’t prevent him from playing.

Dickerson was upgraded from DNP to limited. He’s still listed with a “knee/rest” designation. If Dickerson can’t play or has to leave Sunday’s game early, Tyler Steen is first up at left guard.

Huff was limited for the second day in a row. The guess here is that he won’t be playing on Sunday. Still ramping up.

Sydney Brown was upgraded from DNP to limited. He might be able to clear the concussion protocol in time to play on Sunday. If Brown doesn’t end up being ready, the Eagles could look to temporarily elevate Andre’ Sam from the practice squad to serve as a fourth safety/special teams contributor.

The Eagles listed eight players under FULL PARTICIPATION: Jalen Hurts, Saquon Barkley, Mekhi Becton, Lane Johnson, Cam Jurgens, Jordan Mailata, DeVonta Smith, and Britain Covey.

Hurts was full go again despite dealing with a broken finger on his non-throwing hand.

Barkley, Becton, Johnson, Jurgens, Mailata, and Smith were upgraded after being listed under DNP on Wednesday.

Covey was full go again. Perhaps he’ll be able to play this weekend after missing the last two games due to a neck injury.

WASHINGTON COMMANDERS INJURY REPORT (WEDNESDAY)

The Commanders listed three players under DNP: starting right guard Sam Cosmi, starting edge rusher Dante Fowler Jr., and No. 2 tight end John Bates.

Cosmi missed practice for the second day in a row due to illness. Starting center Tyler Biadasz missed Week 15 due to illness (he’s back now and not listed on the injury report), so, there’s clearly a sickness going around in the Commanders’ locker room. The guess here is that Cosmi will be able to play on Sunday but two missed practices is notable.

Fowler Jr. got a rest day after fully participating on Wednesday.

Bates might be dealing with the same illness that’s been plaguing his teammates.

The Commanders listed seven players are limited. Notably among them: starting tight end Zach Ertz, starting defensive tackle Jonathan Allen, starting defensive tackle Daron Payne, starting safety Jeremy Chinn,

Ertz was upgraded from DNP to limited after missing Wednesday’s practice due to a “concussion/rest” designation. Seems like the former Eagles tight end might have a chance to be cleared in time to play on Sunday. If Ertz can’t suit up, Bates would be the Commanders’ tight end … if he’s able to play. If Ertz and Bates both can’t suit up, the Commanders will be down to rookie tight end Ben Sinnot and a practice squad elevation or two (Cole Turner and/or former Eagle Tyree Jackson).

Allen was limited for the second day in a row. He has a chance to play but there’s been some buzz that he might not yet be ready to play in Week 16. One might imagine the Commanders would like him to get a full practice in before returning to the field.

Payne was limited for the second day in a row but he’ll likely play. He toughed out his back injury to suit up in Week 15.

Chinn was limited for the second day in a row. Seems like he has a solid chance to clear the concussion protocol and play on Sunday. We’ll see if he can practice in full on Friday.

Kicker Zane Gonzalez was upgraded to full participation.

Gonzalez missed Wednesday’s practice with a “left foot/personal” designation but it looks like he’s on track to play for the first time since Week 13.

Starters Terry McLaurin and Frankie Luvu were removed from the injury report after being limited on Wednesday with “rest” designations.
