Saints request interview with Eagles OC Kellen Moore for head coaching job

Now that the 2024 season is over for half the NFL, teams have started firing their coaching staff — and front offices. The Saints are now in the market for a new head coach and have reportedly reached out to the Eagles to interview OC Kellen Moore.

It’s no surprise that the Eagles develop talent, not just on the field, but in the front office and among coaches, and their success enables a bit of a revolving door of coordinators. Moore was just hired last season, but he’s not new to the head coaching circuit, and has been at it for a few years. The OC even previously interviewed for the Eagles head coach job, but Jeffrey Lurie and Howie Roseman ultimately went with Nick Sirianni.

Sirianni takes pride in the development of his staff, and knows that inevitably means turnover. He’s already had Shane Steichen (Colts) and Jonathan Gannon (Cardinals) leave for head coaching jobs, and Moore is likely next. It does seem a bit soon having just one year in Philly, and a roster that is more loaded than any other in the NFL, but he’s someone who will keep getting interviews year-after-year until he lands the job.

Hopefully Moore can make the most of his opportunities while still giving 100 percent to his preparation for the Eagles playoff run.
