Devils Reportedly Linked To Blackhawks Forward

The New Jersey Devils have been in a bit of a funk lately, winning just four out of their last 10 games. While this is the case, they are still in a great spot in the standings, as they are tied with the Toronto Maple Leafs for the fourth-most points in the Eastern Conference standings.

With the Devils in a comfortable spot in the playoff race, they will aim to add to their roster before the 2025 NHL trade deadline. One area they should look to improve is their forward depth, as they need more secondary scoring.

According to The Fourth Period, the Devils are one of six teams linked to Chicago Blackhawks forward Ryan Donato. The other teams reportedly in the mix are the Winnipeg Jets, Toronto Maple Leafs, Los Angeles Kings, Ottawa Senators, and Carolina Hurricanes.

He also offers excellent versatility, playing both down the middle and on the wing.

Donato carries an affordable $2 million cap hit and is a pending unrestricted free agent. With this, he is a clear trade candidate on the rebuilding Blackhawks. Let’s see if the Devils end up being the club that lands him from here.
