Ranking the 10 Teams With the Most Super Bowl Victories



The Raiders, once based in Oakland and Los Angeles, won three Super Bowls and became famous for their aggressive playstyle and rebellious attitude. With legendary players like Ken Stabler and Marcus Allen, they built a lasting legacy.



Previously known as the Washington Redskins, this franchise won three Super Bowls under Joe Gibbs with three different quarterbacks. Their most historic moment came in Super Bowl XXII, when Doug Williams became the first Black quarterback to win a Super Bowl, throwing four touchdowns in one quarter.



The Denver Broncos suffered four Super Bowl losses before finally breaking through in 1998 and 1999 with John Elway at quarterback. Their third title came in 2016, when a dominant defense, led by Von Miller and Peyton Manning, dismantled the Carolina Panthers in Super Bowl 50.



The Kansas City Chiefs have emerged as a modern dynasty under Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid. After winning Super Bowl IV in 1970, the Chiefs waited 50 years before capturing another title in 2020. They have since won back-to-back Super Bowls in 2023 and 2024, cementing their status as the NFL’s newest powerhouse.



The Green Bay Packers won the first two Super Bowls under legendary coach Vince Lombardi, whose name now graces the Lombardi Trophy. Their most recent title came in 2011 when Aaron Rodgers led the team to victory against the Pittsburgh Steelers in Super Bowl XLV.



The New York Giants have won four Super Bowls, with two coming in dramatic upsets over the New England Patriots. Led by Eli Manning, the Giants ended the Patriots’ undefeated season in 2008 with David Tyree’s famous helmet catch and won again in 2012.



Known as “America’s Team,” the Dallas Cowboys have won five Super Bowls, their dominance peaking in the 1990s. The Troy Aikman, Emmitt Smith, and Michael Irvin era produced three championships in four seasons. However, their last Super Bowl victory was in 1996, and fans still await their return to glory.



The San Francisco 49ers were the team of the 1980s, thanks to Joe Montana, Jerry Rice, and head coach Bill Walsh. Their innovative West Coast offense changed the game, and the franchise won five titles in 14 years. The franchise recently appeared in Super Bowls LIV (2020) and LVIII (2024) but fell short both times.



The Pittsburgh Steelers were the first team to reach six Super Bowl titles. Their dominance in the 1970s, led by Terry Bradshaw, Franco Harris, and the Steel Curtain defense, set the foundation for one of the most successful franchises in NFL history. Their last championship came in 2009 when they defeated the Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII.



The New England Patriots share the record for most Super Bowl victories with six championships. Led by the legendary Tom Brady and mastermind coach Bill Belichick, the Patriots dominated the league for nearly two decades. Their latest victory came in 2019 when they defeated the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII.
