After the initial fight cancelation between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford, boxing fans had plenty to say. While some questioned why Canelo wasn’t agreeing to the fight, others were more focused on the weight difference between the two fighters, thinking it was a mismatch from the start. Amid this conversation, one well-known Terence Crawford critic, Ray Jackson, took things to a whole new level by mocking Bud relentlessly.
However, things took an unexpected turn when fans learned that the fight was back on. And this time Canelo Alvarez had signed a four-fight deal, confirming the fight once and for all. The first of these four fights is scheduled with Canelo taking on the IBF super middleweight champion William Scull during the Cinco de Mayo weekend on May 3rd. Grabbing the opportunity, Terence Crawford warned the Mexican star about what is to come in September once he is done with the Scull fight. But once again, Ray Jackson jumped in and made his presence felt, trying his best to take another swing at Crawford.

In a post shared on X, Terence Crawford wished Canelo Alvarez good luck ahead of his upcoming fight while firing off the first warning. “Good luck @Canelo in your next fight. I’m looking forward to becoming a 3x Undisputed Champion.😉,” the WBA Super Welterweight champion said. It wasn’t long before Ray Jackson replied, “Sorry dad I gotta go against you. Canelo is 2 big 2 strong and has more skills 🤷🏾♂️,” once again mocking Crawford and showing his clear preference for Canelo.
It’s ok son, I’m not mad at you. I taught you to have your own opinion. After the fight just know what side you was on.

Crawford, however, wasn’t about to let this slide. He responded with a calm but biting reply: “It’s ok son, I’m not mad at you. I taught you to have your own opinion. After the fight just know what side you was on.” It was a clear message that while he wasn’t angry, Crawford still kept a competitive edge and had no qualms about throwing back some sarcasm at Jackson’s comments.
Ray Jackson, seemingly pissed, fired back, saying, “😂😂😂😂 u always know what to say now I want Canelo to beat yo a** even more Dad, but good luck tho u gonna need it.” Crawford’s response? At this point, the undefeated 41-0 champion saw no need to explain himself further. Instead, he let his response speak for itself—simply firing back with a string of laughing emojis.“😂😂😂.” The conversation was drenched in sarcasm, with both sides keeping the banter going.
But do you know why was Crawford being called “dad” by someone even older than him? Here’s the real reason.

A Confrontation That Went Beyond Words
Things escalated when Terence Crawford responded to Teofimo Lopez’s post a few days ago about Lopez’s past fight purses. Crawford made a snide remark at Lopez’s past earnings which he considered low for what The Takeover had been bragging on.
Jackson joined in the conversation to taunt the Omaha native. “Talk yo sh*t Crawford but I still got Canelo knocking your a** out 🫡,” he said. But this time, Crawford decided to turn things up a notch. In a surprising move, Crawford said publicly that he was in Texas and would be heading to Garland to pay Jackson a visit personally. “Out here in Texas! I guess I’ll go stop by Garland and go see my son @RayJack97010720 you know daddy still loves you,” the two-division undisputed champion posted on X.

Caught off guard by the challenge, Jackson tried to defuse the situation by claiming he was busy with work, saying, “Gone on mane I ain’t got time to be f**king wit you today,” referencing his job as a ‘forklift operator’. Crawford, though, wasn’t done. He encouraged Jackson to take the day off from work so they could meet up and settle their differences in person.
However, thankfully, the confrontation was confined to social media. But it demonstrated Crawford’s determination to shut down any disrespect, no matter the source. What started as a simple criticism from a fan has blossomed into a full-blown online feud, with both sides taking personal jabs at one another. What do you think about Terence Crawford’s handling of Ray Jackson’s insults?
