Steelers At Colorado Showcase
The Pittsburgh Steelers had light attendance during Friday’s “Colorado Showcase” that featured QB Shedeur Sanders and WR Travis Hunter. Holding the No. 2 and No. 3 picks, the Cleveland Browns and New York Giants sent heavy representation, roughly a dozen members each, but Pittsburgh may have sent just one.
Senior Scouting Assistant Kelvin Fisher was in Boulder to watch the workout.

Clearly, the Steelers aren’t putting in place a contingency plan for landing Sanders in a draft-day tumble. Still, Sanders’ draft slot is difficult to predict, especially if he gets past the Giants at No. 3.
Pittsburgh Trades Down…Twice
Sirius Radio’s latest mock draft has the Pittsburgh Steelers trading down more times in Round One this year than they have in the past two decades. Trading down from No. 31 and again to No. 35, the Steelers moved out of the first round in this mock. They left night one without a player, but instead, the No. 35, No. 66, and No. 103 selections, replenishing their draft cupboards after the DK Metcalf deal.
In their place, the Kansas City Chiefs selected Texas OT Kelvin Banks Jr. at No. 21, while the Tennessee Titans jumped back up to land Ole Miss QB Jaxson Dart.
Pittsburgh last traded down in the first round in 2001, moving down three spots from No. 16 to No. 19 and still coming away with Texas NT Casey Hampton.
Julio Jones Retires
Star receiver Julio Jones officially announced his retirement Friday. After a Hall-of-Fame-worthy 13-year career, Jones is officially hanging up his cleats after failing to appear in a regular-season game in 2024. He last played for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2023, catching 11 passes and three touchdowns.
A first-round pick of the Atlanta Falcons in the 2011 draft, Jones made seven Pro Bowls and two All-Pro teams. He went over the 1,300-yard mark in six-straight seasons from 2014 through 2019, twice leading the NFL in receiving yards over that span.
He also spent time with the Tennessee Titans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
