Though Amazon’s annual (er, biannual, er triannual) two-day sale is barely underway and we expect many of our favorite machines to go on sale later as part of Amazon’s lightning deals, the Prime Day espresso machine deals are already popping up all over the retail behemoth’s site. So whether your drink of choice is a latte, an americano, a cappuccino, or a simple shot of espresso, you can already take advantage of discounted pricing on espresso machines, conical burr grinders, Nespresso machines, milk frothers, and more.
And while there are some good espresso machine deals to shop right now, this is really just a taste of what’s to come. Because as soon as this fall’s Amazon Prime Day sale—which is officially called Prime Big Deal Days—officially kicks off at 12:01 am on Tuesday, October 8, we expect to see even more deals on top-rated semi-and-fully automatic espresso machines, as well as the other gear and gadgets you need to make and enjoy high-quality espresso at home.

Espresso machine brands we hope to see on sale this Prime Day
Breville Espresso machines
For years, Breville‘s espresso makers have outperformed the competition in our teams’ rigorous espresso machine product testing, and in the past, at least a few best-selling models (including ones with user-friendly touchscreens) have been deeply discounted for Prime Day. There’s no telling which machines will go on sale and how discounted they’ll be, but one that always seems to get marked down is the Breville Barista Express, a semi-automatic espresso machine with a built-in grinder and steam wand. In fact, this model is already $50 off on Amazon right now, but we hope to see an even deeper discount when the sale officially starts on October 8. We may also see discounts on other Breville machines, including the Breville Barista Touch Impress, or the Barista Express Impress.
All of that said, if your goal is simply good espresso, our Test Kitchen director Chris Morocco recommends Breville’s Bambino Plus for beginners and anyone on a budget—and at full retail price, it’s only $500. It doesn’t have a grinder, but we haven’t been super impressed with Breville’s built-in grinders anyway.
De’Longhi espresso machines
Like Breville, De’Longhi makes high-end espresso machines for home use and we often see a handful of De’Longhi models marked down during Prime Day, including the De’Longhi La Specialista Arte, which is already on sale. And if you’re going to invest in a De’Longhi machine, BA’s in-house espresso machine expert Noah Kaufman would point you toward something from the la Specialista Arte line. These machines have similar features and functionality to the Breville Barista Express machines, and like the Barista Express machines, they’re very user-friendly, especially for beginners.
Okay, okay. Nespresso machines aren’t “real” espresso machines, but the Vertuoline machines make a damn fine cup of single-serve coffee and consistently good espresso-style shots using centrifuge technology. And if you don’t look too closely, one model, the Breville Nespresso Vertuo Creatista does resemble a “real” espresso machine, with its brushed stainless steel body and built-in steam wand. The Vertuo Creatista is a fairly new machine so I’m not holding my breath waiting for it to go on sale. But every Prime Day, a handful of Vertuo machines do go on sale, including my favorite model, the Nespresso Vertuo Plus (a deluxe version of that model usually gets marked down too). The Vertuo Plus happens to already be on sale right now, along with the Inissia—a compact model from Nespresso’s Original Line which makes espresso-style shots but not cups of coffee.
