    Bleacher Report

Only eight NFL teams still have aspirations of winning Super Bowl LIX on Feb. 9 in New Orleans. That number will get cut in half to four this weekend, when the Divisional Round is set to take place with a pair of games on Saturday and two more on Sunday.

The Kansas City Chiefs and Detroit Lions (the No. 1 seeds in the AFC and NFC, respectively) will play their first playoff games this weekend. They each received a first-round bye and got to skip last weekend’s Wild-Card Round.

The other six teams in action during the Divisional Round will look to build on Wild-Card Round victories and hope to carry their momentum to a Super Bowl championship.

Here’s a look at the latest title odds, followed by a breakdown of everything fans need to know ahead of the Divisional Round of the NFL playoffs.

No. 4 Houston Texans at No. 1 Kansas City Chiefs, Saturday at 4:30 p.m. ET, ESPN/ABC

No. 3 Baltimore Ravens at No. 2 Buffalo Bills, Sunday at 6:30 p.m. ET, CBS

The Chiefs begin their quest to become the first NFL team to win three straight Super Bowls with a Divisional Round home matchup. They’re taking on the Texans, who were an underdog at home last weekend yet still defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 32-12.

If Kansas City wins, it will host the AFC Championship Game the following week. That’s familiar territory for the Chiefs, who have played in six straight conference title games. And five of those were held in Kansas City (all but last season’s in Baltimore).

If Houston pulls off a big upset, then it would travel to either Buffalo or Baltimore for the AFC Championship Game. The Texans have never made it past the Divisional Round of the playoffs.

The Bills-Ravens matchup is a highly anticipated contest featuring the two NFL MVP front-runners: Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen and Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson. The Ravens hope to make it to the AFC Championship Game for a second consecutive year, while the Bills aim to return for the first time since the 2020 season.

Last year, the Chiefs defeated the Ravens 17-10 in the AFC Championship Game. Kansas City also recorded a 27-20 victory over Baltimore in the opener of this NFL season.

Buffalo, which hasn’t reached the Super Bowl since appearing in four straight from 1990-93, is one of only two teams to beat the Chiefs this season. The Bills won 30-21 in Week 11.

No. 6 Washington Commanders at No. 1 Detroit Lions, Saturday at 8 p.m. ET, Fox

No. 4 Los Angeles Rams at No. 2 Philadelphia Eagles, Sunday at 3 p.m. ET, NBC

Five of the six victors during the Wild-Card round were the better-seeded home team. The only exception was the Commanders, who went on the road and notched a 23-20 victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Washington hadn’t won a playoff game since the 2005 season. Now, the Commanders face a huge challenge in going on the road to face the top-seeded Lions.

If Detroit wins, it will host the NFC Championship Game the following week. The Lions, who have never made it to the Super Bowl in franchise history, lost to the San Francisco 49ers in last year’s NFC title contest.

If Washington pulls off an upset, it will travel to either Philadelphia or Los Angeles for the NFC Championship Game. Washington hasn’t made it past the Divisional Round since winning the Super Bowl in the 1991 season.

The Eagles will try to reach the NFC Championship Game for the second time in four years. The Rams could make it there for the second time in five years.
