Joe Burrow had a rough 2023 season, dealing with an injured calf that clearly affected his play early in the year before a a torn ligament in his right wrist ended his campaign in November.
But he’s heading into the 2024 season feeling confident.
“You grow and learn every year,” he told reporters Wednesday. “I know I’m pretty damn good. I have been. Going to continue to improve, year to year, day to day. I think that’s how you have to approach it. I’m focused on continued improvement. I’m really happy with the offseason that I had. I’m really happy to have this training camp to continue to hone my skills and improve and build this team chemistry for this run we’re about to go on.”

As for his new look—which might be best described as a cosplay of late 90s Eminem—Burrow said it came about mostly because he “got bored, that’s about it,”
So perhaps this wasn’t an “important haircut trope” sort of moment, as Burrow looked to bury the past year and embark on his retribution season, even if that would have been the more fun explanation.
